An AI tutor that joins your online class on Google Meet or Zoom
A Mainroom tutor agent joins a live class as a participant: it speaks with students in their language, teaches on a whiteboard it draws as it explains, remembers each student across sessions, and joins every class in a recurring series.
A tutor agent is a participant in the class, not a recording of it. Students hear it, see its tile, ask it questions, and watch it draw.
What a tutor agent does in class
- Talks with students, in their language. Set its persona to the language and level you teach, and it runs conversation practice, corrects gently, and explains grammar or concepts when asked.
- Teaches on a whiteboard. "Explain how the past tense works" or "show us how photosynthesis works" gets a lesson drawn step by step while it speaks, with each step explained before the next appears. A question mid-lesson pauses it; "keep going" picks it back up.
- Puts material on the screen. Vocabulary lists, tables and short quizzes appear as slides on the shared screen.
- Remembers each student. With memory on, it carries what each student struggled with into the next class.
- Follows up. After class it emails a recap: what was covered and what to practise.
Running a weekly class
Invite the tutor's address (for example tutor@mainroom.ai for an agent you named that way) to the recurring class event once. It joins every occurrence, skips classes you cancel and follows ones that move. The host admits it from the lobby like any guest; turn on captions so it knows who is speaking.
Who uses it
Language teachers running small online classes, tutoring businesses, and teams that run internal training on Meet or Zoom. Build one from scratch in the Studio by describing the tutor you want.
Frequently asked questions
Can the tutor teach in a language other than English?
Yes. Give the agent a persona that speaks the language, for example an Indonesian or Spanish tutor, and it runs the class in that language. On Google Meet its captions follow its language.
Does it join every class in a weekly series?
Yes. Invite it to the recurring calendar event once and it joins each class, skips occurrences you cancel, and follows a class that moves.
Can students talk to it between classes?
The agent has its own email address, and it answers email sent to it. In class, anyone can ask it a question out loud.
